And those are completely legitimate questions.
The problem is that there are hundreds and hundreds of files in our library. Making a separate 10", 12", 14" and 16" version of every design isn't realistic. Neither is manually rebuilding every old oversized backer into puzzle pieces.
But the more we thought about it, the more we realized something:
What if you didn't need us to remake the file at all?
What if we could give you a tool that lets YOU make the file fit your project, your laser and your material?
That's what we've been working on.
YOUR LASER SHOULDN'T DECIDE WHAT YOU CAN MAKE.
A smaller laser doesn't automatically mean smaller projects. A 16" design doesn't have to stay 16". And production shouldn't mean spending half your time dragging SVG pieces around a sheet.
SVG RESIZER
Take an existing laser file and resize the entire project from the piece that actually determines its finished size.
“Can you make your 16-inch design in 10 inches?”
Now you don't need us to.
Upload the SVG, select the actual finished backer, enter the size you want, and the SVG Resizer proportionally scales the complete project.

DESKTOP LASER SPLITTER
Turn a project that's too big for your laser into connected pieces that actually fit your machine.
“Can you make a puzzle-piece backer for this older file?”
This might be the tool we're the most excited about.
A lot of our projects were originally designed for larger CO₂ lasers. But more and more makers are using desktop machines with smaller cutting areas.
The Desktop Laser Splitter lets you take that oversized backer, tell the tool how much cutting area your laser actually has, and automatically divide the backer into puzzle-connected pieces.

Sometimes there is.
Open paths, duplicate geometry, unexpected colors, raster images, text that hasn't been outlined and other little problems can all create strange behavior once a file reaches laser software.

HERE'S THE MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY PART.
We talk a lot about finding ways to work smarter in your handmade business.
Sometimes that means changing your products. Sometimes it means changing your pricing. Sometimes it means learning a new skill.
And sometimes it simply means removing the stupid little roadblocks that keep eating up your time.

The goal is to remove things that are slowing you down.

1. question.. when you use the rescaler, will it recognize the piece that was 1/8" on a 16" design, will get burnt up on a 10" version?
