2 Confirm the backer

BACKER = the large base shape you want to split.We will try to find it automatically when your SVG loads. If the correct backer turns blue in the preview, you are ready for Step 3.

Selected backer size—

If Auto Select chooses the wrong shape: click Pick a Different Backer Manually, then click anywhere inside the large base/backer in the preview. You do not need to click the red outline itself.

Ribbon-hanger slots are safe. Slots and other internal cutouts are ignored while calculating the outside shape, then preserved in the downloaded SVG.

Joint Style

Puzzle: Smooth locking head with an adjustable neck. Increase Neck for more material and strength. Joint changes update live without resetting your split lines.

Horizontal creates left-to-right cut lines and stacked pieces. Vertical creates top-to-bottom cut lines and side-by-side pieces. Auto tries a horizontal layout first when equally efficient, then a grid or vertical layout when needed. Joint style, count, width, depth, and neck update live after a split is made, so your adjusted split positions stay put. Drag blue split handles to move seams and green dots to hide joints behind top-layer artwork. Only artwork physically inside a backer cut area is grouped with that piece.
