We Make Stuff. Then We Figure Out How to Sell It.
Thanks for hanging out with us at Crafting for Profit Camp! We're a husband-and-wife maker team who loves learning new tools, creating products, solving problems, and helping other makers turn their creativity into something bigger.
Finding Your Handmade Niche
If there's one thing we hope you took away from our session, it's that your niche doesn't have to be defined by the machine sitting in your craft room.
Your product is WHAT.
Your equipment is HOW.
Kim & Garrett Make It
Today we create, teach, test equipment, develop products, make content, and run multiple creative businesses.
But neither of us followed anything close to a straight line to get here.
And we think that's actually one of our biggest advantages.
Between the two of us, we've spent decades combining creativity with technology and business.
Kim has been crafting for nearly 20 years, starting with scrapbooking. She taught scrapbooking, loved helping other people create, and always dreamed of owning a craft store.
At the same time, her professional career was in enterprise financial systems, where she learned about business processes, finances, organization, and how complicated systems work behind the scenes.
Garrett earned a degree in graphic design and has been working in Adobe software since 1994. Later he went back to school for programming and eventually spent years working in systems engineering.
Eventually our interests in crafting, design, technology, teaching, problem solving, and business all collided.
That's how Kim & Garrett Make It grew into what it is today.
We're Makers First.
Yes, we use lasers. A lot. But we also paint, print, design, build, test equipment, sell at craft shows, make content, develop products, and run creative businesses.
Make Better Stuff
Projects, design ideas, techniques, materials, equipment experiments, and creative problem solving.
Learn Your Tools
We like figuring out how things work and making the learning curve a little less frustrating for everybody else.
Grow the Business
Pricing, products, craft shows, marketing, content, systems, sales, and turning creativity into income.

Yep. We Make Paint Too.
Foxy Hues started because paint is part of so many of the projects we create.
We wanted bold colors, a great satin finish, and paint we could confidently use on projects designed to be displayed indoors or outdoors.
Whether you're painting signs, wood projects, home decor, seasonal projects, mixed-media pieces, or whatever else is sitting on your craft table, Foxy Hues was built with makers in mind.

Our Maker Place is where our community goes deeper.
Members get access to projects, digital files, education, maker resources, business training, community, and other exclusive content depending on their membership level.
Yes, a lot of our community owns lasers. But what really connects everybody is that they're makers who like learning new things, creating better products, and figuring out how to make their creative businesses work.
Come Hang Out After Camp.
We share project builds, new tools, equipment tests, product ideas, business conversations, things that worked, things that absolutely did not work, and a whole lot of making along the way.
Keep Making. Keep Learning.
Whether you're crafting because you love it, building a side hustle, or trying to turn your creative business into something much bigger, we're glad you found us.
