Create Your Own DIY North Pole Directional Sign for the Holidays!
It’s holiday decorating time, and we’re excited to share one of our most requested projects: a DIY Christmas Directional Sign Post! This festive North Pole signpost is easy to make, perfect for family crafting, and brings a touch of holiday magic to any space. With directions pointing to Santa’s Workshop, the Elf Village, and Candy Cane Lane, this project is a fun, eye-catching way to bring the North Pole to your front yard or indoor decor.
Supplies Needed
For this project, we used:
- 1x2 pine board (36 inches) for the post
- 1/4-inch MDF for each directional sign
- Foxy Hues Paint in Ash Avenger White, Cussing Crimson, Great Escape Green, and Apple Raid Green for bold, durable colors
- Starbond glue to assemble the MDF pieces
- Solar Lantern Topper for that warm holiday glow, available at hardware stores like Home Depot or Lowe's
Step 1: Cut the Pieces
We began by cutting our MDF signs using our AEON NOVA 14 laser cutter, which offers precision and ease of use – perfect for creating professional-quality crafts like this. Don't have a laser cutter? Grab the DIY kit or SVG file from our store, making it easy to follow along with your own materials.
Step 2: Paint the Signs
Next comes the fun part: painting! We grouped our signs by color and used our own Foxy Hues Paint. These high-quality acrylic emulsion paints are designed for both indoor and outdoor use, so they’re weather-resistant, UV-protected, and self-sealing—ensuring your signs stay vibrant throughout the holiday season.
Step 3: Assemble the Signpost
Using Starbond glue, we carefully assembled the MDF signs and attached them to the pine post. We even added a few score marks on each sign for perfect alignment—no guessing needed! For a finishing touch, we topped it all off with a solar lantern, adding an extra magical glow to our North Pole sign.
Step 4: Customize and Display!
To make your sign truly unique, consider adding a candy-cane-striped post, a big holiday bow, or even a snowy base. This North Pole signpost is perfect for craft fairs, holiday markets, or your own festive decor!
