What is Up, Make It Mafia!

If you watched our latest YouTube video on Leather Hat Patches, you might have noticed a little jump through a time wrap. We realized Step 4 didn't make the final cut for the public. But honestly, we’re glad it didn't because now it’s a Make It Mafia Exclusive!

In this lost footage, we’re diving deep into Step 4: The Toughness Test.

This is the breakdown of the two types of adhesive used in the video.  How well each adhesive holds up and ones provides that a professional-grade product. Check out the full breakdown to complete your Hat Patch Lab training!

🧪 Lone Star Adhesive: The Toughness Test Cheat Sheet

Adhesive Type Best For... Application Method Why We Love It
Heat Activated Beanies, Knit Hats, & Apparel Heat Press: 300°C–310°C for 20–40 seconds. Creates a permanent, washable bond that sinks into the fibers.
Pressure Sensitive (PSA) Structured Hats (Richardson 112) & Hard Surfaces Peel & Stick: Apply firm pressure; bond strengthens over 24 hours. No heat required! Perfect for those rigid hats where a press might leave a ring.

Pro-Tip from the Lab: When using the PSA (Peel & Stick) on structured hats, make sure your surface is clean. Even though it's "instant," that bond is like a fine wine—it gets even better and tougher after it sits for a day!
